1. Our fundamental privacy commitment: Your files are yours

At JapalTools we guarantee that your files and PDF documents are never uploaded or transmitted to any external server. All operations (merge, split, compress, rotate, convert and protect) run 100% locally in the memory of your own web browser using cutting-edge technologies such as JavaScript and WebAssembly.

2. Data controller

The controller is the owner of JapalTools, whose identification details appear in the Legal Notice. You can write to us with any question from the Contact page.

3. Anonymous usage statistics

To know how many people visit the website and which tools are most useful, we use a statistics service that does not use cookies or identify visitors. Only aggregated data is obtained: page visited, referring website, country, device type and browser, and when a file is chosen, an operation is completed or the result is downloaded, indicating the tool used. The names and content of your files are never sent, and your IP address is not stored.

The legal basis is our legitimate interest in maintaining and improving the service (article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

4. Contact form

If you write to us, we use your name, email address and message only to reply to you. The message is sent through the FormSubmit service (formsubmit.co), which forwards it to us by email. We keep the conversation only as long as needed to handle your request. The legal basis is your consent when you submit the form.

5. Advertising

JapalTools currently shows no advertising and uses no advertising cookies. If we add it in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent before using that kind of cookie.

6. Cookies and storage in your browser

The website only stores your language and theme preferences in your browser and, temporarily, the document you pass from one tool to another. The details are in the Cookie Policy.

7. Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR, EU 2016/679), you can request access to your data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of or objection to its processing, and its portability, by writing to us from the Contact page. If you believe we have not handled your request properly, you can file a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es).
