How to split the pages of a scanned PDF in half
If you scanned an open book, magazine or booklet, each PDF page holds two. This tool separates them so they can be read one by one on a phone, an e-reader or when printing.
Select or drag the PDF scanned as double pages.
Choose a vertical or horizontal cut and drag the line to the fold; if needed, add an overlap or a separate cut for a specific page.
Set the reading order and the pages that are not split (cover, back cover, range), then click Split pages to download the PDF.

Frequently asked questions
No. Each page is duplicated and each copy gets its visible area (CropBox and MediaBox) set to its half, without turning it into an image: text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. That is why the file size barely changes.
Drag the cut line to the fold: it applies to the whole document and, if one page is shifted, you can give it its own cut. With the “right to left” order the right half comes first, as in manga or books in Arabic or Hebrew.
Yes. The cut applies to the page as it is displayed, even if the PDF has it rotated or cropped. You can keep the first and last pages whole, limit the cut to a range or only split landscape pages, so single covers stay as they are.
Yes. Splitting adjusts vector bounding boxes (CropBox and MediaBox), preserving crisp quality of original text and images.
No. The document is processed in your own browser and is not sent to JapalTools or anyone else. When you close the page, no copy remains outside your device.
