How to extract images from a PDF

The tool reads the images the PDF stores inside it; it doesn't take screenshots of the pages: you get each picture with the pixels it has inside the document.

  1. Choose the PDF. You'll see all the images it contains, with their size in pixels and the page they are on.

  2. Tick the ones you want. You can hide small ones (icons, decorations) with the minimum size and remove repeated ones.

  3. Download each image with its button or click “Download selected images” to get them all in a ZIP.

The others are saved as PNG, which doesn't lose quality, and keep their transparency when the PDF defines it. You get the resolution the image has inside the document, which may be lower than the original photo if the PDF was compressed when it was created.

Because not everything that looks like an image is one. Charts, diagrams and logos drawn with lines and shapes (vectors) are not images and can't be extracted this way; to get them, use “PDF to JPG / PNG”. Repeated images appear only once if “Remove duplicates” is ticked, and small ones are hidden if you raise the minimum size.
