How to convert an audio file
The sound is decoded and encoded again inside your browser. If your browser has no MP3 or AAC encoder, one is loaded into the page (LAME or FFmpeg’s) just for that conversion.
Select or drag one or more audio files.
Choose the output format and, if you like, the quality, channels and sample rate. Below, you will see the approximate final size.
Press Convert audio and download the result (several come in a ZIP).

Frequently asked questions
MP3 opens on any device. M4A (AAC) sounds better at the same size and is the usual one on Apple. OGG (Opus) is the smallest. WAV loses no quality but is ten times larger.
Yes, if your browser can read FLAC (recent Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari can). AAC, Opus, WebM and the sound of MP4 or MOV videos are accepted too.
They are copied when the output format supports tags. Check the result if you rely on them, since not every format stores the same data.
There is no fixed limit, but the file is processed in your device’s memory: audio several hours long can be slow on phones.
No. The document is processed in your own browser and is not sent to JapalTools or anyone else. When you close the page, no copy remains outside your device.
