It reads each page’s text and compares it line by line and word by word. Separately, it draws each page and marks the points that do not match, so it also detects changes in images, tables or colors.
The visual comparison does, because it works with the page’s appearance. The text comparison needs the PDF to have selectable text; if it is a scanned image, there is no text to compare.
They are compared page by page as far as they match, and any extra pages are flagged as “only in the original” or “only in the modified”. The text is compared as a whole, so a paragraph that moved to another page is not flagged as a change.
No. The document is processed in your own browser and is not sent to JapalTools or anyone else. When you close the page, no copy remains outside your device.
