How to make GIFs from a video
The video plays in your browser and every frame of the segment is copied, framed, given the filter and text, and saved into an animated GIF with a colour palette calculated for that segment. You can make as many GIFs from the same video as you like, each with its own settings.
Select or drag a video.
Mark the segment on the timeline, add more GIFs or use “Split into several GIFs”, and adjust each one: size, speed, framing, text and effects.
Press Create the GIFs and download them one by one or all together in a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions
Press “Add another GIF” to create a new segment from the current time, or “Split into several GIFs” to cut the whole video into equal parts or take a number of GIFs spread across it. Each one appears in “Your GIFs” and is edited separately.
What matters most is the width, the length and the frames per second: 320 or 480 px, a few seconds and 10–12 fps are usually enough. Lowering the number of colours helps too. “Preview this GIF” shows the size before you create them all.
The GIF plays forwards and then backwards, so the loop has no jump. “Reverse” plays it backwards only.
Yes. In “Text” type the phrase (Enter makes several lines), choose the position, font, size, colour and outline. The text shows on the video while you edit.
No. The video is opened in your browser and the GIFs are created on your device.
No. The document is processed in your own browser and is not sent to JapalTools or anyone else. When you close the page, no copy remains outside your device.
