How to make a booklet from a PDF
In a booklet each sheet holds four pages, two per side, and they are not consecutive: the first sheet carries the front and back covers. The tool works out that printer’s order for you and shows which page goes on each side before creating it.
Select or drag the PDF with the pages in their normal order.
Choose the paper, the binding and, for a long document, smaller signatures. The preview shows the front and back of each sheet.
Press Create booklet, download it and print it double-sided, flipping on the short edge.

Frequently asked questions
Each folded sheet has four pages, so the total must be a multiple of 4. If it isn’t, blank pages are added at the end or, if you tick the back cover option, just before the last page.
Use the manual duplex option in the print dialog, if there is one: it prints one side of every sheet first and asks you to turn the paper over. In the PDF, odd pages are the fronts and even pages are the backs, in case you prefer to print them separately.
No. Pages are placed without turning them into images, so text stays sharp and selectable; they are only scaled down to fit half a sheet. Links, form fields and bookmarks from the original PDF are not kept.
Print it double-sided with flip on the short edge. When you fold the stack of sheets in half, pages will be in consecutive order.
No. The document is processed in your own browser and is not sent to JapalTools or anyone else. When you close the page, no copy remains outside your device.
