Create badges and ID cards from Excel
Upload an Excel sheet with each person’s details and design the card they wear on a lanyard or clip: name, company, pass type and a QR code linked to their data. Download them all in a print-ready PDF.
Select Excel file
or drag and drop your sheet here (XLSX or CSV)
The first row of the sheet holds the column names (Name, Company, Job title, Pass type…) and each following row is one person.
Click an element to edit it. Drag it to move it, use the corners to resize it and the arrow keys to nudge it. Delete removes it.
Badges ready!
Unzip the file and open each .eml file: Outlook opens it as a new email with the ticket attached, ready for you to press Send. In Thunderbird use “Edit as New Message” and in Apple Mail “Send Again”. Gmail and Outlook on the web can’t open these files. The list file shows who each email goes to.
How to create badges from Excel
The tool reads the first sheet of your Excel file (or the CSV), uses the first row as field names and creates one badge per person. The design is the same for all and each badge carries its own data.
Upload your Excel file with one column per detail (name, company, job title, pass type…) or download the template and fill it in.
Choose the size (100 × 140 mm holder, A6 or PVC card) and design the badge: background, logos, texts with fields such as {Name} and a QR code per person.
Choose one or two sides and the print layout, then download the PDF with all the badges.

Frequently asked questions
For plastic holders on a lanyard, 100 × 140 mm or A6 (105 × 148 mm) are the usual sizes. For PVC cards or rigid holders, use CR80 (54 × 86 mm, the size of a credit card). You can also type any size under “Custom”.
It is a guide for punching the hole for the clip or the neck strap. You can move, resize or delete it like any other element, for example if the badge goes into a holder.
Whatever you choose: a link to your website with each person’s data (for access control, for example), the value of a column or a text with the data. JapalTools does not store or validate badges: the link must point to your own site or system.
Yes. Choose “Two sides”: the back starts as a copy of the front, so the name can be read even if the badge flips over on the lanyard, and you can change it. In the PDF, each sheet of fronts is followed by its sheet of backs, placed to match the chosen flip.
An .xlsx or .csv file with the column names in the first row (Name, Company, Job title, Pass type…) and one person per row. The starting design places each column according to its name. Old .xls files are not supported: save it as .xlsx first.
No. The document is processed in your own browser and is not sent to JapalTools or anyone else. When you close the page, no copy remains outside your device.
