Anti-fraud watermark for your ID card or passport

When someone asks for a copy of your ID, write over it who it is for and the date. If it is forwarded or used for something else, it shows. Everything happens in your browser.

How to protect a copy of your ID

Agencies, online shops or strangers sometimes ask for a photo of your ID. An unmarked copy can be reused to open accounts or request loans in your name; with a crossed watermark stating its purpose, that is much harder.

  1. Choose the photo or PDF of the document. You can add both sides.

  2. Write who it is for and add the date. Adjust colour, opacity and size while watching the preview.

  3. Download the copy as JPG, PNG or PDF and send that one, never the original.

More use cases

  • Renting a flat: the agency asks for your ID; mark it “Only for the rental” with the date.
  • Private sales: if someone asks for your ID for a deposit, make clear what it is for.
  • Job offers: send the marked copy only when the company is real and says why it needs it.
  • Hotels and holiday rentals: if they ask for your passport by email, mark it with the property name.
  • Dealing with companies: utilities, phone or insurance firms asking for a copy for a contract.
  • Other documents: it also works for driving licences, health cards or family records.

No. The image is processed in your browser and is not sent to JapalTools or anyone else. That is exactly what you want with an identity document.

Who receives it, what for and the date, e.g. “Only for Example Agency · rental · 07/11/2026”. The more specific, the less useful it is for anything else.

No. No watermark can guarantee that, but the crossed text and wavy lines make it much harder to remove it and reuse the copy. Share the document only when necessary.

No. The document is processed in your own browser and is not sent to JapalTools or anyone else. When you close the page, no copy remains outside your device.
